summer camp volunteer leader.jpg

Spend this summer in the heart of Cornwall volunteering at Camp Kernow’s off-grid environmental adventure camp. We’re looking for individuals full of enthusiasm, energy and a sense of fun to help enrich the experience of children staying here through exciting and meaningful interactions in the natural environment.

You’ll live off-grid, learn new outdoor skills, develop a deeper understanding of sustainability through hands-on experience, meet people who share your interests and gain confidence working with children in an outdoor setting. Above all, it’s fun, incredibly rewarding, rich in experience and an opportunity to engage with children and inspire them to take action towards a more sustainable future.

camp development and maintenance volunteers

We have volunteer opportunities available throughout the year to assist in the ongoing maintenance and development of camp. If you have an interest in off-grid living, enjoy being outdoors and learning new skills, this is the hands-on volunteer role for you.

Harvesting fuel from the woodland, setting up and breaking down camp and oiling the wooden yurt frames are just some of the maintenance tasks to be carried out. In addition, there are opportunities to get involved with site development projects. Plans for 2017 include the completion of our timber frame office and the weaving of a willow spiral windbreak to create an enclosed area within the food garden.

Apply here to join our bank of volunteers and we will keep you posted on planned volunteer days and weekends throughout the year.
